A Lawyer, experienced legislator having served in both State and National Assemblies. He represented Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Federal Constituency and became the Minority Whip of the House of Representatives between 2007 — 2015. He contested for the Edo South Senatorial District Seat in the 2015 general elections.
Hon. Samson Osagie holds a degree in Law from the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1995. He also holds a triple Master degrees in Law, Public Administration and International Relations from Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Edo State, University of Benin and University of Abuja respectively. He is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Political Economy and Development Studies, University of Abuja.
He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Financial Analysts, Fellow Corporate Institute of Administration and Fellow Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria, Member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
He has attended several courses and programs in the United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, South Africa and Nigeria. He is the Managing Partner, Samson Ima — Osagie & Associates (Legal Practitioners), Executive Director (Centre for Advanced and Dynamic Leadership for Development)
He is also the Managing Consultant of this company (SAMRAPH GLOBAL CONSULTS LTD).
He has delivered and presented several lectures and papers in many institutions of learning,
conferences, seminars, workshops and has been engaged in discussions at roundtables/symposia.
He has written several articles in diverse areas such as; Politics, Law, Economy, Public Policy, Public Administration, Local Government Administration, Powers of the National Assembly, Constitutionalism, Community Development and Security.
He has interest in the building and development of public institutions in order to engender good governance in Africa.
Dr. ERNEST UCHENNA EREKE
A consummate, versatile and performance-driven academic who seeks to advance institutions and society through value adding research, advocacy, human resource management and capacity building. For thirteen years, he has been engaged in teaching and research at the Department of Political Science, University of Abuja where he has produced several students who are doing well in various sectors in and outside Nigeria. Within this period, he has not only made a mark through academic achievements but equally involved in advocacy for a better Nigerian and African society as a public affairs analyst. He’s been interviewed severally by BBC Focus on Africa as well as VOA and different media outfits in Nigeria on issues bordering on African politics and development.
As a versatile scholar, he has published in several local and international peer reviewed journals and books as well as participated in local and international conferences. His research interests cover issues of development and underdevelopment, African Politics, political economy, democracy, party politics, federalism, regional integration, legislative process, local government administration, gender studies, devolution of powers, military and strategic studies, etc.
Ernest Ereke holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Political Economy and Development Studies and is a member of several professional bodies including the Nigeria Political Science Association (NPSA) and the International Political Science Association (IPSA), African Studies Association (ASA), Midwest Political Science Association, USA (MPSA). He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of Abuja and serves as the Coordinator, YIAGA AFRICA Centre for Legislative Engagement (CLE). He equally consults for several domestic and international organizations with interest in development, elections, democracy and the legislature.
